Ice Expansion and ‘Ice Shove’: 2 Distinctive Types of Ice Damage

Nothing can resist the expansion of ice. This type of damage, related to docks, is preventable with the use of bubblers or a number of other water agitating systems. Keeping water from freezing around a dock during the winter will prevent ice expansion damage.

An IceRamps system is not designed for Ice Expansion. It is designed for ‘ice shove’ as ice goes out in the spring only.
